A young pastor remembered the day a church bus pulled away to go to camp without him, because his parents couldn't afford to send him. That pastor, Rev. JD Temples I, dreamed of a campground where no one was ever turned away. That dream became a reality the summer of 1984. Each year since 1984 the Lighthouse Tabernacle has conducted one of the most awesome youth camps in Southern Indiana.
Camp is divided into two weeks packed full of activities. Week one is designated to kids, ages 6-11. Week two is designated to teens ages 12-19.
The Camp Beacon Olympics are always a huge hit! Campers compete in traditional games such as basketball, volleyball, kickball and swimming. Then it's time to get a little crazy with various wacky activities such as bowling ball throw, Bible holding, and the all new "Obstacle" course.
Throughout each week kids and teenagers alike participate in relevant, hard-hitting Bible classes where they learn about the awesome power of God and that living for him doesn't mean sitting around collecting dust.
Every evening the entire camp comes together for a jam packed worship service! Our worship services feature a variety of speakers and artists from rap to hip hop, rock to comedy, all praising our Lord Jesus Christ!!
Camp wraps up on Friday evening with the Awards Ceremony, where each camper receives his/her awards for the week. So if you are between the ages of 6 and 19, come and join us!
